Committed to “helping people help themselves” through many social, philanthropic, and educational ventures.
Beginning in 1993, our Managing Partner led Compass Knowledge Group for almost 20 years, becoming the marketplace leader in serving the distance learning needs of top higher education institutions. At Compass, he led a team of academic, business, marketing, recruitment, and student support professionals who worked together in cross-functional clusters to fulfill the company’s contribution to its Knowledge Partnership with its Academic Partners.
The Compass Team were the visionaries behind the strategy of partnering with higher education institutions to guide them into new markets and opportunities. This business model, now commonly referred to as Online Program Management (OPM), was originated in 1996 with a partnership with University of Florida College of Pharmacy.
In 2010, he partnered with Knowledge Universe and Technology Crossover Ventures to merge Compass Knowledge Group with Embanet, another leader serving the not-for-profit online higher education market. The continued success of the combined company, solidifying its position as the industry leader, led to the sale of the company to Pearson in 2012. The sale was the largest transaction to date of an educational services company.

As Partner at Moraine, Mark is responsible for finding and procuring investment opportunities, managing due diligence and serving as advisor to portfolio companies.
Mark has a long history of building, operating, and growing businesses, and has worn almost every hat in a start-up. His experience includes marketing, sales channel creation, product positioning and strategic planning. He has also been an early investor in a number of businesses.
Mark gained his experience through a number of ventures that led to his partnership at Moraine. Most recently, he served as President of Splash Media U, LLC, an online Social Media Marketing school that offered certificate programs for the masses. As COO of Splash Media, LP, he contributed to the evolution of Splash Media, which became a full service digital marketing agency. At XOS Digital, Mark was the Director of Strategy during the creation of the SEC Digital network on behalf of the Southeastern Conference. Mark honed his strategy skills when he was Vice President of Strategic Planning and Development at GlobalTec Solutions where he worked on strategic partnerships and new initiatives. Merging the knowledge gained from his work and life experiences has qualified Mark to bring a variety of skills to the table.

Mrs. Myers brings to Moraine almost two decades of experience in accounting, bookkeeping and administrative management.
Given her background as a former math teacher and as an advocate of continuing education, Mrs. Myers enjoys fostering professional growth and development in Moraine’s beneficiaries. A graduate of the University of Central Florida, Mrs. Myers is also involved in multiple volunteering opportunities in and around Orlando.
Through a combination of analytical skills, relationship-building and strategic communication, Mrs. Myers ensures that Moraine remains on course to achieve its goals at the executive level.
